I started my career not in technology, but at Wendy's — supervising teams, managing inventory, coordinating operations. I learned what it actually takes to run a business: the chaos, the repetition, the inefficiency that everyone accepts as normal because 'that's how it's always been done.'
In 2018, I made the jump into IT. What made me different from other IT professionals wasn't my certifications — it was that I understood operations from the inside. When a forklift company hired me, I didn't just see a technical problem. I saw field technicians carrying paper forms in -30°C weather, office staff re-entering data for hours, and management making decisions on two-day-old information.
Over 5 years, I architected and delivered a complete digital transformation of that company — replacing a 1980s Linux system with modern iPad applications, real-time dashboards, and automated reporting. The result: 40% efficiency gains and $400K+ in documented annual savings.
In 2024, I founded Awesome Challenge IT to bring that same level of transformation to Calgary's service businesses. Restaurants, HVAC companies, repair shops, retailers — businesses that are too busy running operations to figure out how AI can help them.
